Hayat-e-Javed' is a detailed biography of Sir Syed AHmed Khan, written by Altaf Hussain Hali. This book, written in 1881, describes Sir Syed's life with minute details and when Sir Syed's life and his personality is seen against the backdrop of this book, many important aspects come very evident and the reader is able to discern the impacts of different personlities that helped shape and mould Sir Syed;s own personality. This paper traces and analyses the impact of different religious, political, educational, literary and ancestral personalities that greatly influenced Sir Syed in different ways as mentioned, directly or indirectly, in Halis' book 'Hayat-e-Javed'.
