Abstract
Literature and society have a strong relationship with each other. Changes in society also lead to changes in literature. Mirza Hamid Baig is well Known Short Story writer of the era. He is a keen observer of society and notices that society’s values are changing day by day, and ultimately it may take place in the form of destruction in society. Ethical and moral values are the guidelines from that a person determines his right path to live in peace and harmony. He expresses his fear in the form of short stories that a man in the modern age has forgotten common manners, proper etiquette and respect for each other. Mirza Hamid Baig started writing short stories in the seventh decade of 20th century. He has written four short stories books namely “Gumshuda kalimaat”,”Jaankibaai ki arzi”, “Gunah ki mazdoori”, “Taar per chalny wali”. This article “Variable of Social Values in The Short Stories of Mirza Hamid Baig” aims to describe the importance of values in a society and the deterioration of values have negative impact on individual’s life and in modern society.
