Abstract
Urdu Dictionary Board, also known as Urdu Development Board, was established in 1958 to compile the first voluminous dictionary of Urdu Language and Literature on historical principles. The board is also famous for the first linguistic journal of the subcontinent named Urdu Nama, which was basically issued to publish the contents of Urdu Lughat (Tareekhi Usool Per) to get the opinion of language experts and linguists. There is a long list of scholars, linguists and philologists who took interest in the work and made changes to the contents of Urdu Lughat. So, this write up discusses the reviews, changes and suggestions of the experts and emphasizes that Urdu Dictionary Board should revise the dictionary in the light of these suggestions.
