Sub-continent`s many languages have taken much impact from other genres of foreign languages and in them Urdu remains at the top .Urdu short story has become the most popular genre while it was adapted by many other languages of sub-continent as well. Sindhi short story has taken much effect from Urdu while it becomes more extensive in some cases. It has also provided some new dimensions to Urdu short story. In this article, the researcher traces down the impacts of Urdu short story on Sindhi short story with reference to a major literary movement, which is often termed as Progressive movement.
