Abstract
Qurat- UL- AinHaider has constructed the world of his own in fiction and paved the way for new literary experiments through her novel writing and remarkably changed the ancient tradition of Urdu fiction and took the Urdu novel to new creative expression and paths. Her novels helped in reconstructing the layers of civilization, culture, history, politics and fine arts.
The following thesis revolves around the linguistic and social analysis of Qurat- UL- AinHaider`s magnum opus work of Urdu fiction named as “Aakhiri Shab Kay Hamsafar’’ (1979) in short. Discussion of the technicalities of the story line of the novel is also included. The terms used in the articles are mentioned in alphabetical order at the end as a glossary. A short and etymological overview of the way the writer has presented the atmosphere of Bengal in a cultural context is also presented. A research based and analytical study of terms used in “etymological analysis” is also being carried out. The meanings and linguistics of the terms used are explained and expressed with the help of authentic dictionaries and research articles. And it has been made sure that expressions and word which are important with regards to linguistics and meaning are included in the glossary.
