Ameer Ahmad Ameer Meenai was a poet of urdu and Persian.He is also known as a lexicographer, sufi, scholar, editor, prose writer, translator. He wrote poetry in almost every genre including ghazal, na’at, qasida, masnavi, tarkib band and tarji band. Ameer Meenai started his poetic career from Lucknow and shifted to Rampur after the destruction of Lucknow.He created the best of poetry during the reigns of Nawab Yusuf Ali Khan and Nawab Kalab Ali Khan.
