Abstract

Post colonialism, signals a possible future of overcoming colonialism, yet new form of dominations can come in the wake of such changes, including new forms of global empire.

Post colonialism should not be confused with the claim that the world we live in now is actually devoid of colonialism. In search of cheap labor and cheap raw material, the British Empire colonized India. Syed Ahmed Khan was a leading educationist and reformer. He possessed the intellectual resources to reconcile matters of faith with the more immediate task of rescuing Muslims from their downward spiral. During this colonial period Sir Syed Ahmed Khan began his movement to reform the educational, social and literary environment. He also began writing in the same period.

This paper evaluates Sir Syed's writings against the backdrop of this milieu.
