Hakeem Mehmood Ahmed Barakati, born in 1926 in British India, was  a prominent writer and scholar. He obtained degree of Fazil-e-Deenyat from Ajmer and Fazil-e-Adab from Ilahabad. He got his degree in medicine "Fazil-ut-Tib wal Jarahat" from Tibbia College, Dehli, India, in 1948, and since then he had been practiciing medicince till his death. Besides practicing medicine, Hakeem Barkati was engaged in "Fazil-ut-Tib wal Jarahat" from Tibbia College,. He had over a hundred publications to his credit on health, medicine, history and philosophy.
