After the creation of Pakistan, a large number of literary Urdu magazines were launched from Karachi. These magazines have played a very important role in the making of Karachi's literary scene and Pakistan’s literary history. This article researches and analyses the prominent Urdu literary magazines of Karachi and the role they played in promotion of Urdu language and literature in Pakistan.
