Urdu Poetry has envisaged the political social and economic scenario of the modern day world. As time passed by, Urdu literary canon had transformed a bit because of the demands of contemporary era. Modernized life style has catered to the needs and demands of the people and modern Urdu Poetry had also facilitated each and every dimension of the modern man. In this article, the researcher has carefully traced the creation of   the  new  literary  canon of  modern Urdu Poetry. The  researcher   suggests  that the five elements of modern Urdu Poetry ar: Nasir Kazmi, Aziz Hamid Madni, Habib Jalib, Munir Niazi  and  Ibn-e-Insha.
