The history of protest and defiance dates back to start of human civilization. This article analyses elements of revolt and resistance in poetry and works of famous poet Faiz Ahmad Faiz and the features of his poetry that distinguish him from contemporary poets. The peculiarity of Faiz's poetry lies in his ability to portray bitter realities without compromising tone. His poetry discusses the predicament of life in general and inequalities of society in specific. All these characteristics marke Faiz a revolutionalry poet. This article analyses the resistence elements in Faiz's poetry.
