Abstract

Terrorism and violent activities have always been a topic of literary writing. Aside from the epics written in Greek and Sanskrit literatures, such as Oddsey and Iliad, the scenes from battle fields have been depicted in Urdu’s early poetical works. This portrayal of violence and terrorism can be traced all along the history of Urdu literature. This article analyses the different aspects of this portrayal in Urdu literature with examples from some selected texts.
