Meerza Adeeb is prominent progressive drama writer of twentieth century, who tried to present the real consciousness of that time. As the result, he presented the helplessness of the poor in the ugly clutches of capitalism.. He unfolded the complexed and delicate minds of Indian people in his dramas who were in an extreme stress and were considering it as a total destruction and exploitation. So that the characters of his dramas show their extreme hatred towards the slavery and try to raise their voice against British rule. This article is a comprehensive study of Meerza Adeeb's drama writing in the perspective of colonization, zeitgeist of the time and progressive writing.
