Abstract
The 19th century India was a hub of knowledge, education, wealth and opportunities despite its falling into the hand of The British Empire. Delhi, its capital had become a center of knowledge and wisdom. The personalities that were contributing towards the glory of Delhi included Sir Syed Ahmed Khan and Imam Bakhsh Sehbai. Sir Syed had been associated with the family of Imam Bakhsh Sehbai quite a long time. His effect on Sir Syed’s life is noticeable in many ways. In the second edition of his book on history and archealogy Asaar-us-Sanadeed, Sir Syed has confessed that how Imam Bakhsh Sehbai helped him in many ways. This article presents how these two personalities had close relations and how these ties helped Sir Syed write and promote literature in those turbulent times.
