Abstract
The reformist movement launched by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan for the uplift of Muslim’s educational and social domains has been drawing attention till today.
Establishing Western-style educational institutes and implementing modern syllabi were the important ingredients of Sir Syed’s education policy is debatable but this article especially takes into account Sir Syed’s stance on the medium of instruction for subcontinent’s Muslim. It also discusses the reasons for the change of his stance on the issue.
