Urdu short story   (Afsaana) has depicted the social milieu of sub-continent. It also encompasses the dilemma of modern life. Among all Urdu short story writers, Zahida  Hina has emerged as a notable one due to her topics, treatment and approach towards modern day life .She has covered a wide range of literary tendencies in her short stories which is a result of her extensive reading.
