Urdu Ghazal is the most favored genre of Urdu poetry.   It covers human sentiments  wich such a beauty that embody almost each and every element of life. Some poets had mastered the art of Ghazal in such a way that they could depict their feelings and intellect through it. Among them Khawaja Mir Dard was quite prominent. He perfected his art through tactful use of language and Sufi thoughts expressed through peculiar terms and metaphors. This article analyses Khawaja Mir Dard’s Art of Ghazal with stress on beloved’s depiction in his Sufi style.
